राज्य » अन्य राज्यPosted at: Oct 22 2020 5:52PM Police register case against MES for financial misappropriationKozhikode, Oct 22 (UNI) Nadakkavu police here has registered a case against Muslim Educational Society (MES) for financial misappropriation, on Wednesday.कोझिकोड, 22 अक्टूबर (वार्ता) नाडाक्कवू पुलिस ने यहां बुधवार काे वित्तीय गड़बड़ी को लेकर मुस्लिम एजुकेशनल सोसायटी (एमईएस) के खिलाफ मामला दर्ज किया है। सोसायटी के पूर्व सदस्य नवस की शिकायत पर मामला दर्ज किया गया है। उल्लेखनीय है कि श्री नवस ने पुलिस को दी शिकायत में आरोप लगाया गया था कि सोसायटी के अध्यक्ष डॉ. फजल गफूर तथा महासचिव पीओजी लीबा ने निजी परियोजनाओं के लिये विभिन्न फंड के अलावा सोसायटी के जमीन के सौदों में 3.81 करोड़ रुपये की हेराफेरी की है। पुलिस द्वारा मामला दर्ज करने से इनकार करने पर श्री नवस ने उच्च न्यायालय का रुख किया था। उच्च न्यायालय ने उनकी याचिका पर पिछले हफ्ते पुलिस को मामला दर्ज कर जांच करने का निर्देश दिया था।सूत्रों ने पुलिस रिपोर्टों का हवाला देते हुये कहा कि प्रथम श्रेणी अदालत में पुलिस द्वारा दायर प्रारंभिक जांच रिपोर्ट में कुछ आरोपों को खारिज कर दिया गया है। उधर कथित डॉ. गफूर ने उन पर लगाये गये आरोपों को गलत और निराधार करार देते हुये शिकायत को भी मनगढ़ंत बताया है। उन्होंने कहा कि शिकायतकर्ता सोसायटी के एक पूर्व सदस्य हैं, जिन्हें संगठन से बाहर कर दिया गया था। सं वार्ता MES, a prominent Muslim organization played a crucial role in the Educational sector in Kerala for over 50 years.The complaint lodged with police by a former MES member Navas alleged that its President Dr Fazal Gafoor and General Secretary P O G Leeba had misappropriated Rs.3.81 crore in land deals of MES besides diverted funds for personal projects.The complainant has approached the High Court after police refused to register a case. The High Court had directed the police last week to register a case and investigate. Responding to the allegations, Dr Gafoor said it was false and baseless.He told reporters that the complaint was a fabricated one.The complainant was by a former member of MES who was ousted from the organization.Sources quoting police reports said a preliminary investigation report filed by police in the First Class Judicial Magistrate Court had vindicated some of the allegations.UNI KP CS
