इस पूरे मामले पर अंतरराष्ट्रीय एजेंसियों और समुदाय ने अमेरिकी राजदूत को ट्विटर पर दिये संदेश में कहा “ आधी रात के समय गालेफेस में प्रदर्शनकारियों के खिलाफ की गयी कार्रवाई बेहद चिंताजनक है। हम शासन प्रशासन से संयम बरतने और इस कार्रवाई में घायल हुए लोगों को जल्द से जल्द चिकित्सीय मदद मुहैया कराने की अपील करते हैं।”
संयुक्त राष्ट्र की रेजीडेंट कॉरडिनेटर हना सिंगर हैमडी ने एक संदेश में कहा “ प्रदर्शनकारियों को तितर बितर करने के लिए सुरक्षा बलों का इस्तेमाल बेहद चिंताजन है। मानवाधिकार कार्यकर्ताओं और पत्रकारों का अधिकार है कि वह प्रदर्शन पर नजर बनायें रहें और उनके कार्य में रूकावट नहीं डाली जानी चाहिए। सरकार की ओर से प्रदर्शन को दबाने या प्रदर्शनकारियो के शांतिपूर्ण तरीके से किसी स्थान पर एकत्र होकर विरोध जताने के खिलाफ की गयी किसी कार्रवाई से श्रीलंका में राजनीतिक स्थिरता और आर्थिक स्थिति को और झटका लग सकता है।”
श्रीलंका की बार एसोसिएशन ने भी आधी रात के समय प्रदर्शनकारियों के खिलफ की गयी सैन्य कार्रवाई की कड़ी आलोचना की है। श्रीलंका के मानवाधिकार आयोग ने भी इस कार्रवाई की कड़े शब्दों में आलोचना करते हुए इसे लोगों के मानवाधिकारों का खुला उल्लंघन बताया। आयोग ने कहा कि वह खुद भी इस मामले की जांच करायेगी ताकि कानून व्यवस्था बनायी जा सके।
देश के नये राष्ट्रपति के पदभार ग्रहण करने के बावजूद सरकार विरोधी प्रदर्शन जारी हैं क्योंकि नये राष्ट्रपति विक्रमसिंघे को भी देश में राजपक्षे के ही सहयोगी के रूप में देखा जा रहा है।

Journalists and human rights defenders have a right to monitor demonstrations and their functions should not be impeded. Actions that stifle protests and right to peaceful assembly can worsen economic and political stability in Sri Lanka. Peaceful solutions in accordance with broad public consultations is the only way forward."The Bar Association of Sri Lanka said it strongly and unreservedly condemn the use of force and violence last night by the authorities in attacking protesters at Galle Face in the vicinity of the Presidential Secretariat.The Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka condemned the brutal and despicable attack on the peaceful protesters at Gall Face vicinity by the Military saying that it is a total violation of the fundamental rights of the people by the actions of the Executive.The HRC advised the state to identify the perpetrators and take appropriate action and ensure such actions by the Military or any action within the control of the State to violate the fundamental rights of the people will never occur in the future.In the meantime the HRC will conduct its own investigation to ensure that rule of law is maintained.Anti-government protesters continued to rally against President Wickremesinghe who is widely believed to be a Rajapaksa ally.About 200 persons who protested near the Fort Railway station have marched towards the President's office, but have been blocked by police on Lotus road, near Hilton hotel

इस्लामाबाद, 26 अप्रैल (वार्ता) पाकिस्तान ने पिछले साल देश में कथित मानवाधिकार उल्लंघनों पर अमेरिकी विदेश विभाग की एक रिपोर्ट को स्पष्ट तौर से खारिज कर दिया है और कहा है कि केवल राजनीति से प्रेरित रिपोर्ट ही गाजा में चिंताजनक स्थिति को नजरअंदाज कर सकती है।

डकार, 26 अप्रैल (वार्ता) मध्य सेनेगल में एक बस का टायर फटने के बाद पलट जाने से 13 लोगों की मौत हो गई और अन्य 40 घायल हो गए हैं। स्थानीय मीडिया ने यह जानकारी दी है।
