Congress needs Rahul Gandhi at this juncture: Siddaramaiah

Mysuru, June 13(UNI) Former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah today underlined that Rahul Gandhi must continue as the All India Congress Committee (AICC) President since there is no alternative.कर्नाटक , 13 जून(वार्ता) कर्नाटक के पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री सिद्दारामैया ने आज कहा कि श्री राहुल गांधी को कांग्रेस के अध्यक्ष पद पर बने रहने चाहिए क्याेंकि अभी उनका कोई विक्ल्प नहीं है।
“He [Rahul Gandhi] should continue in the post as the party needs him in the present situation. I am sure he will continue to lead the party,” he told newsmen here . उन्होंने यहां पत्रकारों से कहा कि श्री गांधी को इस पद पर बने रहना चाहिए क्योंकि पार्टी को इस समय उनकी जरूरत है और मुझे विश्वास है कि वह पार्टी का नेतृत्व करते रहेंगे।

Siddaramaiah alleged that the five-year rule of the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre had messed up the economy and wondered why people still chanted the ‘Modi' mantra in spite of the slow economic development. The economy could not be resurrected under the BJP-led government since it had failed in its previous regime.“Instead of focusing on development issues, the BJP leaders made speeches, told lies and raised emotional issues to mislead the people,” he charged.
He alleged that BJP leaders were successful in making the people believe in their 'dramas' and 'lies'. “The people got misled by it and the media should also take the blame for what happened,” he said.The Congress-JDS Coalitionn Government Coordination Committee Chairman said the Pulvama attack was the fallout of intelligence failure and the government covered up its lapses on national security. “We get the flak if we question their lapses. Being a citizen of this country, I have the right to speak on my country’s economy and lapses. They cannot stop me,” he said.
